Asperger Services Australia Ltd is a volunteer not for profit organisation and was established in 1995.  The organisation is reliant on creating their own income to support families and individuals with an Autism Spectrum condition.  

Program Manager –  part time paid position

Description: The Program Manager will coordinate, and participate in the implementation of, a substantial capacity building program. Responsibilities will include:

  • Implementing approved activity plans on time and within budget
  • Sourcing and coordinating the resources required to help implement the activities
  • Oversighting quality of delivery by all resources
  • Reporting on activities as required by the Program Management Group, Board and Grant guidelines

There are four activities under the program:

  1. Peer Support Group Quality Improvement – to expand and improve the impact of, and accessibility to peer support groups (both face-to-face and on-line).
  2. Media and Communications Strategy Development – to develop and implement a media and communication strategy that ensures effective utilisation of technology in the delivery of its services.
  3. Life Skills Program Design and Delivery – to develop and implement a life skills program for, and by, people with Autism and Asperger’s Syndrome
  4. Volunteer Development Program – to recruit and train new volunteers

Requirements: To be considered for this position, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Strong project management and coordination skills and experience, preferably in the Not for Profit sector
  • Understanding of, and experience in, delivering capacity building programs
  • An understanding of the NDIS and its application
  • Well-developed computer skills (Word, Excel, Email) and a good understanding of web based media
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • An understanding of Asperger’s Syndrome and its impact on carers is highly desirable

Time & Duration:  this position is for 20hours per week. There will be some flexibility in the days worked and the location of work (some work may be done from home if agreed by the Centre Director). It is estimated that the contract will be ten months in duration.

Volunteer position:  Events Coordinator and Assistant

Position ID 20619

Short Description: There are two positions open for an events coordinator and an assistant.  We organise family activities, seminars, conferences and workshops and fundraising events.

Description: The successful applicant must have events coordination skills and preferably have worked in this area.  Most of our seminars, conferences and workshops are related to autism specific topics and speakers are sought from a pool of professionals interested in Autism Spectrum conditions. Knowledge of Autism Spectrum conditions is not necessary but would be preferable.

The successful applicant will be working with the Managing Director and under the direction of the Board of Directors.  One of the goals are to keep the organisation sustainable into the future.

Requirements: You will be required to hold a Blue Card.  If you do not have one, we will be able to help you to apply for one.
